Bananas in Rum Sauce.
1 tablespoon butter
1/3 cup dark rum(Use the good rum )
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup turbinado sugar or granulated sugar
2 and 1/2 cups vanilla light ie cream
Melt butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.While butter melts,stir together rum and water.Add sugar to melted butter in skillet.Stir in rum mixture.Bring to a boil:cook 4 minutes or untill bubbly and slightly reduced.
While sauce reduces,slice bananas diagonally to create oval-shaped slices:add to suace.Cook 3 minutes,turning until coated and thoroughly heated.Remove from heat.Serve bananas with ice cream.Serving Size: about 1 /3 cup bananas with sauce and 1/2 cup ice cream.
